The Challenge: Protecting a Vital Water Supply
This was an exceptionally large project, featuring a 770 square-metre roof, roughly three times the size of an average home. Compounding the scale of the job was a critical environmental factor: the property is entirely self-sufficient, relying solely on rainwater. Four massive in-ground water tanks provide all the drinking and living water for the household.
With no connection to town water, our absolute priority was safeguarding the water supply. Before a single drop of cleaning solution was applied, our team meticulously diverted the entire roof runoff system, ensuring zero contaminants could enter the drinking tanks.
The Solution: Advanced Soft-Washing Technology
The expansive roof suffered from varying degrees of organic growth, with heavy accumulation of algae and biological spores in the shaded sections. To tackle this safely and efficiently, we cleared the heavy leaf buildup from the gutter guards and deployed our new remote-controlled soft-washing rig.
This state-of-the-art equipment allows our technicians to switch between the specialised cleaning solution and fresh water on a single hose line. The benefits of this system include:
