How We Spotted What a Queensland Police Facility Didn’t Know it Needed

The Problem: A Window Quote That Revealed a Bigger Issue
The station manager at a Noosa Heads Police facility on the Sunshine Coast contacted Premier Clean for a
quote to clean the windows on the barracks, the building where on-duty officers live while rostered at
the station. It looked like a straightforward job: a two-storey building with windows that would need
water-fed pole equipment to reach the upper level safely.
When our team arrived to assess the barracks, station staff asked us to also quote the windows on the
main station building next door, another two-storey building with the same high-reach requirements.
But walking the site to prepare those quotes, our team noticed something the original brief hadn’t
mentioned: both buildings had heavy mould and algae build-up across their exterior surfaces, the kind of

every day.
The Solution: Quoting the Job That Was Actually Needed
Back at the office, we prepared the window cleaning quote we’d been asked for, for both the barracks
and the main station building. We also prepared two further quotes the station hadn’t requested: a full
exterior wash for each building to remove the mould and algae we’d identified on-site.
In total, we submitted four quotes in response to a single original request.
The station administrator followed up to understand the exterior cleaning work in more detail before
deciding. We talked her through our process and the results she could expect, restoring the buildings’
appearance and removing the organic growth at the source, rather than just rinsing the surface.

work. The exterior crews set up their cleaning trucks and began washing down the barracks and main
station building, while the window cleaning team worked through the interior, tackling the high glass
with water-fed poles. All four quotes — window cleaning and exterior washing across both buildings- were completed in a single day, on 30 June 2026, meeting the station’s deadline.
By the end of the day, the mould and algae staining was gone, and both buildings looked like the
